Health Corner :- Reproduction is a natural process through which all living beings create new members of their species. In humans, this process occurs through the union of a sperm and an egg, known as fertilization, between the male and female. This is a normal process, and most couples experience it successfully and enjoy becoming parents.
However, in some cases, this process is not that smooth. When a man or woman is unable to produce children, it is called infertility. The causes and treatment of infertility are different for both men and women due to differences in their reproductive systems.
causes of male infertility
• Testosterone deficiency can reduce sperm count.
• Some medical conditions, such as surgery, cancer, or infection in the testicles, can also affect sperm production.
• Exercising in hot environments, wearing tight clothing, and using hot tubs can also reduce sperm count.
• Sometimes, this condition may be genetic.
• Alcohol and other drug abuse can also contribute to male infertility.
• Recent studies have identified a new element, ‘atypical centrol’, which may be associated with miscarriage and developmental abnormalities.

Age is a major cause of infertility in women, as the ability to conceive decreases with increasing age. Additionally, conditions such as problems with the fallopian tubes, ovaries, or damage to the uterus can also hinder fertilization.
causes of female infertility
• Hormonal problems can occur due to imbalance of the thyroid gland.
• Irregular menstrual cycles can also cause ovulation problems.
• Excessive weight gain or loss can also cause infertility.
• Tumors in the uterus or ovaries can also cause infertility.
• Children of women who take DES drugs during pregnancy may also face infertility.
• Consumption of alcohol, nicotine and other drugs also causes infertility in women.
Infertility Treatments and Options
There are several tests available to identify infertility in both men and women, such as urine or blood tests. In many cases, infertility is treatable, allowing people to enjoy the joys of becoming parents.
Treatment in men: In case of low sperm count, artificial insemination may be an option, in which sperm are injected into the female uterus. In vitro fertilization is also an option, in which the sperm and egg are fertilized in the laboratory.
Treatment in women: Antibiotics are used in cases of infection. For hormonal imbalance, hormone injections may be given. Additionally, various supplements are also available to enhance fertility.
