Controversy arose over the film ‘O Romeo’
Mumbai: There was a lot of enthusiasm among the fans about Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s new film ‘O Romeo’, but now it is stuck in controversies. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is scheduled to release on 13 February 2026 on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Recently the teaser of the film was released, in which Shahid Kapoor’s action-packed look was liked by the audience. But soon after, Sanobar Shaikh, daughter of Hussain Ustara, who is linked to Mumbai underworld, sent a legal notice to the makers of the film.
Sanobar Shaikh’s legal notice
Sanobar Shaikh has alleged that his father’s image has been misrepresented in the film, causing damage to his family’s reputation. They not only demanded to stop the release of the film but also demanded compensation of Rs 2 crore. This notice was sent to producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Vishal Bhardwaj last week. Sanobar says that Shahid Kapoor’s look is similar to his father and his story has been used without permission.
Trailer launch event canceled
Due to this legal notice and security concerns, the makers of the film canceled the trailer launch event at the last minute. According to reports, this decision was taken due to threats related to the underworld. The trailer launch was scheduled for January 15, but now it may be released online or it may be pushed forward. The makers have not released any official statement yet, but they have already clarified that the film is completely fictional and has no relation to any real person.

There will also be a disclaimer at the end of the film stating that any similarities are coincidental. ‘O Romeo’ is a romantic action drama, which will show the story of unrequited love, passion and pain. Along with Shahid Kapoor, big names like Trupti Dimri, Avinash Tiwari, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani and Farida Jalal are included. This film marks the reunion of Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor after 8 years. In the teaser, Shahid Kapoor was seen with full body tattoo, gun and fighting, which presents the atmosphere of the underworld.
