New feature for users
New feature of WhatsApp
WhatsApp keeps introducing new features for its users. This Meta-owned platform is planning to introduce a new feature soon. According to media reports, under this new feature users will be able to add cover photo to their WhatsApp profile. The feature is already available on Facebook and is now being developed for both iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp. Currently, testing on this feature is going on.
Ability to add cover image to profile
When this update is released, the layout of the profile section will change. Users will get a new space above the profile photo, name, and About section, where they can add a wider cover image. This photo can be selected directly from the mobile’s gallery and the option to delete it if required will also be available.
Focus on privacy and security
WhatsApp has also prepared new privacy controls for this feature. These settings will work similar to the settings currently available for Profile Photo, Status, and Last Seen. This feature will allow users to decide who can see their cover photo – everyone, only saved contacts, or no one.
Option to hide cover photo for specific contacts
Additionally, WhatsApp will also introduce an option where users can block certain contacts from seeing the cover photo, while others will be able to see it. This will give users more control over their profiles.
feature testing
Currently, this feature is not available even for beta users. The company is engaged in improving it further. It is expected that it will be released first for beta testers and then gradually extended to all users.
