Sonam Kapoor’s baby shower ceremony
Sonam Kapoor, who made her mark with her acting in the film ‘Saawariya’, is going to become a mother for the second time. Recently his family organized a grand baby shower ceremony, which was attended by all the members of the Kapoor family.
Sonam shared a video on this special occasion, in which she highlighted the importance of the ancient tradition of Seemantonnayan.
In this video shared on Instagram, all the members of Sonam’s family are seen smilingly attending her baby shower. Sonam, who is considered an icon in the fashion world, while performing this ritual also explained its importance.
He wrote in the caption of the video that Seemantonnayan is one of the sixteen Garbha Sanskars of Sanatana Dharma, which respects the mother and the life in her womb. In different regions of India it is known as Godh Bharai, Srimanta, and other names. The names may change, but the blessings and celebration of new life always remain.
Sonam further said that the ceremony was even more special for her because her close friends and entire family were present on the occasion. She thanked her mother, mother-in-law and sister who helped make the event a success.
The main objective of Seemantonnayan is to protect the unborn child and prevent the mother from problems occurring during pregnancy. In this ritual, the husband fills the mang of his wife with a branch of Gular and wishes for her good health. This ritual is performed in the third trimester of pregnancy, so that the mother has less pain at the time of delivery.
