Details of firing incident
Mumbai Police has recovered the weapon used in the firing at the residence of film director Rohit Shetty. The incident occurred at around 12:45 am on February 1 in Juhu area. According to reports, several bullets were fired towards the first floor of his nine-storey building, one of which also hit the glass of the gym located inside the building. After the incident, security arrangements were strengthened in the area and the police immediately started the investigation process.
Weapon recovery and forensic investigation
The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has taken important action in this case and recovered the weapon used in the firing. According to the police, this weapon was recovered from the accused shooter. It has now been sent to the Forensic Science Lab for ballistic testing to confirm that the bullet was fired from this weapon. In this case, strict law has been implemented under Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).
Information about arrests and raids
Police have so far arrested 12 accused in this case, including the main shooter Deepak Sharma. Some accused have been caught from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Pune. According to the investigating agencies, the aim of this incident was to harm the filmmaker and create an atmosphere of fear.
Police also said that some of the accused had provided scooters and other essential items to the shooter. The arrested accused were produced before the MCOCA court, where one of the accused claimed that his statement was obtained under duress.

Meanwhile, the security of Rohit Shetty and his family has been increased. Police say that strict action will be taken against the accused.
