Jaisalmer: An Amazing Trip

Royal Heritage of Jaisalmer
On the first day of the journey, reach Jaisalmer Railway Station or Airport in the morning and check-in to your hotel. Then go on a tour of Jaisalmer city. First of all, visit Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Fort. This fort is made of yellow stones and is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. People still reside here, and narrow streets, shops and temples can be seen inside the fort.
Jain temples and mansions
There are many Jain temples within the fort, which are intricately carved. Next, head towards Patavon Ki Haveli, a group of five mansions. The balconies and windows here present a wonderful example of royal architecture.
Gadisar Lake Sunset
In the evening, visit Gadisar Lake, where the view of the sunset is very mesmerizing. At night, visit the local market to buy handicrafts, jewelery and Rajasthani clothes.
Desert and Desert Camp
On the second day, travel to Kuldhara village, an old and mysterious village. Near it is the Khaba Fort, from where a wonderful view of the desert is visible. Then head towards Lodharwa Jain Temple and experience the Sum Sand Dunes, the most famous desert area of Jaisalmer.
Jeep and Camel Safari
Enjoy a jeep or camel safari here and watch the sunset over the sand in the evening. Stay overnight in the desert camp, where you can enjoy music, folk dance, Rajasthani food and bonfire.
Tanot Mata Temple and Border Area
On the third day, wake up early in the morning and visit Tanot Mata Temple, which is located on the India-Pakistan border. Next, visit the Longewala War Memorial, where you will get to see items related to the 1971 war.

The best time to visit Jaisalmer is between October to March. During this time, keep light woolen clothes and sunscreen with you. Wear comfortable clothes for desert safari. You can reach here by bus, train, plane or your own car.
