Chopta is part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can enjoy camping with friends. For this you will have to obtain permission from the Forest Department. This place is also the beginning of the Tunganath trek, which is known as the highest Shiva temple in the world. Chandrashila trek also starts from here, which is at an altitude of about 4000 meters. The view of sunrise and sunset from here is amazing.

Best time to visit Chopta

The best time to visit Chopta is from April to June and September to November. There is a danger of landslides here during monsoon.
