Thus, the total collection of two days became Rs 5.40 crore.
Explosive collection of ‘The Kerala Story 2’
According to SACNILC, the average occupancy in Hindi was 12.20 percent, which was better in evening shows. Kerala High Court on Friday lifted the stay and allowed the release of the film, after which it got more screens and the number of viewers increased. The start was slow compared to the first half, but the bounce back over the weekend is positive. The budget of the film is around 28-30 crores, and now on Sundays and weekdays it has to be seen how far the film can progress.
Poor performance of ‘Scream 7’ in India
‘Scream 7’ is the new installment of Hollywood’s horror franchise, which is performing poorly in India. Its collection was very low on the first day, while on Saturday also the net collection was only around Rs 50 lakh. Total India Net in two days is around Rs 90 lakh and Gross is Rs 1.10 crore. Globally the film has had a good opening weekend, but in India the numbers are low due to the limited reach of English films.
Budget and performance of the film ‘Assi’
‘Assi’, Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama film, which released on February 20, is now in its second or third week. This film is based on social issues and is doing modest business in the beginning. According to the recent figures, its total collection has reached around 7-8 crores, but its impact was less among the new releases on Saturday. The budget of the film is said to be Rs 30-40 crores and it is still trying to recover the budget.
Performance of ‘O Romeo’
‘O Romeo’, Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri’s film, which released in mid-February, is now running at good numbers. It remained strong in the first week and now the total India net has crossed 60 crores, while the worldwide net is close to 90-100 crores. It also had a steady performance on Saturday, although some screens dropped due to new releases. Overall, ‘The Kerala Story 2’ has attracted the most attention over the weekend, while other films are running at their own level.
