Ubtan to remove Holi colors
Holi festival and skin care
The festival of Holi is a symbol of joy, but playing with colors can have negative effects on the skin. Chemical-rich colors make the skin dry and lifeless. Many times the color does not come out completely from the skin, due to which people adopt drastic measures to remove it.
Importance of Ubtan for skin care
It is advisable to use organic colors during Holi, but many people are unable to do so or become victims of fake herbal colors. As a result, they use soap or face wash frequently, causing the skin to become more dry. Homemade scrub cleanses the skin without causing any harm, removes dead skin, clears pores and brightens the complexion.
Ingredients required to make Ubtan
To make this traditional ubtan, you need: gram flour, curd or raw milk, turmeric, lemon juice and almond or coconut oil. If you have taken 2 spoons of gram flour, then take the same amount of curd. The quantity of turmeric should be half. If the paste becomes too thick, it can be smoothened by adding some raw milk or rose water. Add lemon juice in small quantities, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Method of preparing Ubtan
To make ubtan, sift gram flour in a clean bowl. Then add curd to it, after that add turmeric and a little oil. Mix all the ingredients well and prepare a thick and smooth paste. Add lemon juice as required. Keep in mind that the paste should neither be too thin nor too hard. You can also make it a day before Holi and keep it in the fridge. This will not only make your skin glow but will also provide coolness to it.
method of applying ubtan
This paste can be applied on the face and entire body. After applying it, leave it for at least 15 minutes. When it is almost dry, take some milk or rose water in your hands and massage it lightly. After this, take bath with lukewarm water. This method removes the color slowly and does not harm the skin.
