Change in release date of Yash’s ‘Toxic’ film
New release date of Yash’s ‘Toxic’
Mumbai: The makers of Yash’s upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ have made an important announcement. Earlier this film was scheduled to release on 19 March 2026, but now it will be released in theaters on 4 June 2026. The producers said that this decision has been taken due to the ongoing unstable situation in the Middle East, especially due to the tension between America and Iran.
Reason for change in release date
The producer of the film said, ‘Toxic is a film that we have made for a global audience. It has been shot in Kannada and English so that it can appeal to domestic and international audiences. We were looking forward to releasing it on March 19, but the current instability in the Middle East has impacted our global reach. Therefore, we have taken the difficult but conscious decision to change the release date in the interest of partners and audiences.

This film is being seen as Yash’s biggest project after the KGF series. Director Geetu Mohandas has prepared it as a period gangster drama, in which Yash will be seen in a double role. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and others. Its music director is Ravi Basrur and due to its big budget, it was expected to receive good response pan-India and internationally. Earlier the plan was that the film would release on the occasion of Eid on March 19, where it would clash with Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’. But now ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will get a solo Eid release, while ‘Toxic’ will be released in June.
Analysts believe that the Middle East market, where Yash’s films are very popular, is currently unstable. Therefore, the producers changed the release date, giving priority to the global release. This decision may cause some disappointment for the fans, but the makers have appealed for patience and said that they will soon share information related to promotion and teaser. Yash’s fans will now wait for June 2026, when ‘Toxic’ will hit the big screen. This change could further strengthen the film’s success at the box office, as more family audiences visit theaters in the summer. Overall, the US-Iran tension has affected the strategies of big films of Bollywood and South.
