In recent times, incidents of cyber fraud have increased. In this context, a new method of swindlers has emerged. Cyber ​​criminals are sending emails to people luring them to download e-PAN card. PIBFactCheck advises to avoid this fraud on the X platform. These fraudsters commit false loans and bank fraud by stealing people’s personal information, such as Aadhaar and bank details, through their fake links.

PIBFactCheck has clarified that these emails are completely fake and one should not click on the links given in any such emails. Additionally, the government fact-checking organization has also shared the process for reporting this fraud.

What is e-PAN card scam?

E-PAN card scam is a new way of cheating by cyber criminals. In this people are asked to download e-PAN card. These emails are prepared in such a way that they appear to have come from the Income Tax Department. The links given to download e-PAN card are fake, whose aim is to steal the personal information of the users and drain their bank accounts.

How to report fake emails

If you also receive any suspicious email related to e-PAN card, you can easily complain about it. For:

  • Send the suspicious email or the website link contained therein to Webmanager@incometax.gov.in.
  • Also inform CERT-In and send a copy to incident@Cert.in.org.in.
  • After this, delete that fake email from your inbox immediately.
