This asana is helpful in improving eyesight, relieving back and neck pain, reducing belly fat and strengthening the digestive system. Additionally, Ustrasana makes the spine flexible and also improves cardio-respiratory health.

Benefits of Ustrasana

Ustrasana benefits many body parts. It stretches the spine, thereby reducing back and neck pain. Additionally, it increases lung capacity, thereby improving respiratory and cardiovascular health. It is also helpful in reducing stress and fatigue. Before doing Ustrasana, it is necessary to do a warm-up, which includes Vajrasana, Marjari Asana, slight back bend and stretching of the shoulders and waist.


Method of doing Ustrasana

Ustrasana is easy to do. For this, first of all sit on the yoga mat in Vajrasana posture or stand on your knees, keeping your feet equal to the width of the hips. Slowly bend backwards and hold your ankles with your hands. Tilt the head backwards and bring the chest upwards. Remain in this position for some time as per your capacity and then slowly return to the starting position and relax.
