Delicious Kunafa Recipe: Make at Home
Kunafa: a popular sweet
Kunafa is a famous and delicious sweet of Arab countries. Eating it in outside restaurants can be expensive, but you can easily make it at home. Many people believe that making Kunafa is difficult, but with the right method it is easy to make.
Ingredients for making Kunafa
To make this dessert you need: hand crushed feni (vermicelli/vermicelli), 2-3 tbsp ghee, 1 cup milk, 1 cup corn flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup fresh cream, mozzarella cheese, 2-3 tsp rose water, pistachios (for garnish), and honey/syrup/Nutella/Biscoff (for topping).
How to make Kunafa
First, lightly crush the feni with hands. Add 2-3 tablespoons of ghee to it so that it becomes crispy. Pour 1 cup milk in a pan and heat it lightly. Then add 1 cup fresh cream and mozzarella cheese in it. Cook it on low flame till it boils and a smooth creamy filling is prepared. Add 2-3 teaspoons of rose water to it.
Now take a flat pan and apply light ghee in it. Add a layer of crushed feni in the pan and spread it by pressing it. Pour the cheese-cream mixture over it and add some extra mozzarella cheese if you wish. Then cover it with another layer of feni.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame so that the bottom layer becomes golden. Then turn it over and cook from the other side also until it becomes golden. Finally, garnish with pistachios and add honey, sugar syrup, Nutella or Biscoff as per your choice and serve.
