Ways to simplify children’s homework
Nowadays, the homework children have from school can be stressful. As evening approaches and homework time arrives, the atmosphere at home becomes tense. Parents yell and kids cry because they don’t want to do homework. If you are also facing the same problem, then you are at the right place. Today we are sharing some simple tips to help your children do their homework. Many parents scold or threaten their children, thinking that this will get them to finish the work quickly. But in reality, doing so keeps children away from studies.
Smart Parenting Tips –
1. Create a regular routine –
Children do not like discipline, but they accept it easily. Therefore, if there is no fixed time for homework, they will always keep postponing it.
What to do: Don’t ask them to do homework right after school. Give them time to play and refresh themselves, and then ask them to do homework at a fixed time.
2. Choose the right place for homework:
Do not allow children to do homework while lying on the couch or bed. This increases laziness and makes it difficult to concentrate.
What to do: Keep a small table and chair in a corner of the house. There should be good lighting at that place. To keep them busy, place colored pens, stickers or stationery of their choice on their table.
3. Adopt a Reward System:
Use a reward system for whatever tasks children complete.
How it works: Tell the child, “As soon as you finish this task, we will eat chocolate together or play a game.”
4. Do it in small parts:
When the child sees a lot of homework at once, he gets nervous and starts crying.
Smart approach: If he has got work on 3-4 subjects, don’t make him do them all at once. Ask him to do just one task first. Then give him a break and ask him to do the same task again.
5. Sit with him:
Children often get irritated when they see their dad watching TV or mom using the phone while they are supposed to do their homework.
What to do: When your child is doing homework, sit with him. You can do some office work, read a book, or read the newspaper. Help him solve the question, don’t tell him the answer directly.
