Mumbai: Controversy has arisen in South India regarding the paid preview show of Ranveer Singh’s new film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’. Many shows of the dubbed versions of the film in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada were canceled or postponed at the last minute, leading to disappointment among the audience. Responding to this situation, director Aditya Dhar apologized to the fans and shared information about the new schedule.
The preview shows of the film were scheduled to start at 5 pm on 18 March, but due to technical problems and delay in delivery of content, Tamil and Telugu shows were canceled in many South theatres. The Malayalam and Kannada versions were also affected in some places. The theaters started the refund process by apologizing to the audience and giving the option to show the Hindi version of the show.
Director Aditya Dhar issued a statement on social media saying, ‘We sincerely apologize to all the viewers. Dhurandhar is not just a film for us, but a dream which we wanted to release simultaneously in every language. He told that most of the shows of Hindi version are running on scheduled time. Tamil and Telugu shows will now start at 9 pm. The Malayalam and Kannada versions of the show will be available from tomorrow morning.
Aditya advised viewers that if one is unable to attend the show, they can seek a refund or watch the Hindi version (with subtitles). “We are truly sorry for this inconvenience,” he said. Our entire team is working hard day and night so that tomorrow on 19th March the film can be a hit across the country. Reactions from fans have been mixed. Many users told in the comments that there was a problem in their Hindi show also. Some demanded the release of the full version (without cuts) on OTT. One fan wrote, ‘Sir, there is an issue in Hindi shows also.’ While another said, ‘Please release the uncut version on OTT.’

The film is already breaking records in advance booking and huge crowds are being seen in the paid previews. Hopefully all these issues will be resolved with tomorrow’s official release and audiences will enjoy it in theatres.
