Ranveer Singh’s film broke the record of Rs 100 crore in 24 hours

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh’s recent film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has created a new history at the box office. It crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on the first day of its release, which is an unprecedented achievement in Hindi cinema.

Great start from preview shows

Paid preview shows of the film began in the evening on 18 March, with an excellent response from the audience. According to Sacknilk and other trade reports, the film made a gross collection of Rs 43-52 crore from the previews. In many places, shows were going on even after 4:30 pm, and theaters were packed with spectators. This was more than the opening day of the first part ‘Dhurandhar’, which had a collection of only Rs 28 crores.

Bumper sales in first day booking

There was tremendous activity on the ticket booking platforms since the morning on the day of release on March 19. Millions of tickets were sold in an hour, breaking many old records. The film earned more than Rs 30-40 crore in advance booking. The full day’s collection was estimated at Rs 60-75 crore nett, but including previews the total collection reached above Rs 100 crore nett. In some reports it has been said to be Rs 105-113 crore.

Destroyed old records

Earlier, films like ‘Pathan’, ‘Jawaan’, ‘Animal’, and ‘Stree 2’ took 2 days to reach Rs 100 crore. But ‘Dhurandhar 2’ achieved this feat in 24 hours of preview and first day itself. This is the first time in Hindi cinema that a film has crossed the Rs 100 crore nett mark on the first day. The film also made pre-sales of more than Rs 75 crore in foreign countries, taking the total worldwide opening to around Rs 200 crore.

Successful in winning the hearts of the audience

Seeing the enthusiasm of the film, it seems that it can reach Rs 500 crore in the weekend and Rs 1000-1300 crore in its lifetime. This spy action film of Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar is being liked very much by the audience.
