Mumbai: Aditya Dhar’s much awaited film ‘Dhurandhar The Revenge’ has created a new history at the box office as soon as its release. The film surprised everyone by earning more than Rs 100 crore on the first day. On Thursday, the film collected approximately Rs 102.55 crore. Apart from this, there was a huge collection of Rs 43 crore in the paid preview itself, due to which the film had made its strong position even before its release.
Decline in earnings but normal
On the second day, i.e. Friday, the film’s earnings declined by about 20 percent. According to reports, the film collected Rs 80.72 crore on the second day. However, this fall is not considered big, because after such a big opening, a slight fall is normal. The film’s total collection in two days has reached Rs 226.27 crore, making it one of the fastest-grossing films of the year.
Eid festival and possible benefits
The biggest opportunity for the film now is Eid day. The number of viewers in theaters is expected to increase due to the festival. Trade experts believe that the film’s earnings can again reach close to Rs 100 crore on Saturday. If this happens, the film can break records in its first weekend itself.
Budget and profits of Dhurandhar franchise
According to reports, the total budget of both parts of the Dhurandhar franchise is around Rs 280 crore. The makers had covered their entire expenses from the earnings of the first part. In such a situation, the second part has become a completely profitable deal. Now the earnings of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ are directly adding to the profit, which is taking the film towards even bigger success.
Will Dhurandhar 2 break the record of the first part?
The first part grossed approximately Rs 840 crore worldwide and is one of the biggest films of Hindi cinema. Now it is expected that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ can leave this record behind as well. The pace at which the film is earning makes it clear that it may soon set new figures.
