RailOne app features and issues

Digital transformation in rail travel

Train travel in India has become an essential part of life for millions of people. To simplify ticket booking, Indian Railways has introduced several digital platforms. In this context, a new app called RailOne has been launched, which has been developed for the convenience of passengers. Through this app, passengers can easily book both reserved and unreserved tickets.

Features of RailOne App

This app has many useful features, but there are also some shortcomings that can become a problem for users. In particular, the process of expiring passwords and resetting them can be challenging for many people.

New digital option for ticket booking

There are many digital options now available for rail passengers. People have been using IRCTC Rail Connect app for a long time. Similarly, the RailOne app has also been developed as a holistic platform.

Passengers can avail reservation tickets, general tickets, platform tickets and other railway services through this app. It aims to provide multiple services to passengers at one place, making the ticket booking experience faster and simpler.

Not getting alert about password expiry

One major downside of the RailOne app is that there is no notification before the password expires.

Most of the big digital platforms inform their users through email or message that their password is going to expire soon. With this, users change the password on time and do not face any problem while performing necessary tasks.

However, RailOne app does not have this feature. If a user opens the app after a long time and needs to book a ticket at the same time, the entire process may get halted due to expired password.

Forgetting password due to mPIN

There is a special feature called mPIN, which is a 6 digit PIN, for log-in to the RailOne app.

Most users use mPIN instead of entering the password daily. Due to logging in using the same method for several months, the original password is not remembered.

When the app suddenly gives a message that the password has expired, users are left confused. If the app facilitates log-in via mPIN, the process of password reset should also be simplified with the same.

OTP delay

While resetting the password, OTP is sent to the email or mobile number. But sometimes it takes a lot of time for this OTP to arrive. When a user wants to book a ticket in a hurry, late arrival of OTP slows down the entire process.

technical problems

Some technical glitches may also occur during the password reset process. Sometimes the page takes time to load, and sometimes the app returns to the log-in screen again and again.

Such technical issues can become a big problem for any ticket booking app, because every second matters here.

improvement required

RailOne app aims to provide better digital facilities to the passengers, but it is very important to make some necessary improvements. First of all, there should be a system to send notifications before the password expires.

Additionally, the mPIN and password systems should be better integrated so that users do not face any hassles in log-in and password reset.

If these issues are resolved quickly, this app can become a strong and reliable platform for train ticket booking in the future.
