Wood apple syrup
Drinking wood apple juice is a great option during the summer months, as it not only keeps the body cool but also protects from heatstroke. It is very beneficial for digestion and also keeps the skin healthy. To make this, take out the pulp of a ripe wood apple and mash it well. Remove all the fibers from it, then add water and some ice cubes in a glass. Add vine pulp as per your choice. Use jaggery or sugar to sweeten this drink. Finally, add a pinch of black salt, black pepper powder and roasted cumin powder.

Sattu sherbet
Sattu *sharbat* is also another great drink to drink in summers. To make it, add sattu powder to a glass, add ice cubes and water, and stir until it dissolves well. Now, add finely chopped onion and finely chopped green chilli, and squeeze some fresh lemon juice. Add common spices like roasted cumin powder and black salt. And that’s it, your delicious *sharbat*—which is rich in protein—is ready to drink!

rose syrup
During summers, rose *sharbat* instantly gives a feeling of comfort and freshness. To make this, you can either buy rose syrup from the market, or clean some desi rose petals and boil them in water. Filter this water, then prepare syrup by adding sugar and lemon juice to it. Add a little rose essence to it, store it in a glass jar, and whenever needed, make instant rose syrup and serve it.

Vetiver syrup
Khus is another traditional sherbet that proves to be extremely beneficial in keeping the body cool during the summer months. To make this, wash khus roots thoroughly and boil them in water. You should boil them for at least 20 minutes. Add sugar to this mixture and cook it until it thickens and becomes syrupy. When the syrup is ready, you can add food coloring—although this is entirely up to you. To further enhance the taste, add a little khus essence to it. Now, whenever you feel like drinking something, just pour a small amount of this syrup into a glass, add cold water to it, and enjoy.

Fennel syrup
First of all, soak the fennel seeds in water and leave them overnight. The next day, put these soaked grains in a blender and grind them to make a paste. After this, prepare a syrup by adding string candy (rock candy) to this paste. When the syrup is ready, you can mix it with milk or water—either way—to make a refreshing sherbet.
