Monalisa Bhosle’s legal dispute: Problems increased after she was proved to be a minor

Mumbai: Monalisa Bhosle, who rose to fame overnight while selling garlands at Mahakumbh 2025, is now embroiled in a serious legal dispute. After her viral popularity, she got film offers and recognition on social media, but the most talked about thing was when she married Muslim youth Farman Khan. Now a big revelation has come on this marriage – in the investigation of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Monalisa’s age has been proved to be minor.

The NCST team examined the hospital records of Madhya Pradesh. According to the report, Monalisa was born on 30 December 2009. When they got married in March 2026, she was only 16 years, 2 months and 12 days old, which is not a legal age. At the time of marriage, Monalisa had declared her age to be more than 18 years, but investigation has also revealed a case of tampering of documents.

An FIR has been registered against Farman Khan under POCSO Act, Kidnapping and SC/ST Act at Maheshwar police station in Khargone. Under the POCSO Act, the punishment for an offense related to a minor can be up to 10 years in jail. If the documents are proved to be fraudulent, the punishment may increase further. Farman Khan is accused of submitting wrong age documents for marriage.

Monalisa’s family had already alleged that their daughter has been brainwashed. Film director Sanoj Mishra had also confirmed the same and now after the NCST report, he seems quite satisfied. He also shared his reaction on social media. Monalisa was a simple girl selling Rudraksh and garlands at the Mahakumbh, whose innocence and smile attracted the attention of millions of people.

After going viral, she also got offers to work in Bollywood, but the news of marriage changed everything. Now this matter has become not only about marriage, but about the safety and legal process of the minor. NCST has sought reports from the police chiefs of Madhya Pradesh and Kerala. Further investigation is ongoing. Both Farman Khan and Monalisa had earlier demanded security, but now the situation has completely changed. The matter has become serious after Monalisa’s real age came to light. The debate on this news has intensified on social media.
