Many people believe that milk, especially buffalo milk, increases their weight. However, this notion is wrong. Not consuming milk can cause deficiency of essential nutrients in the body, which can cause various health problems. Milk is extremely beneficial for us, because it supplies many important vitamins. For example, from milk we get plenty of calcium, which is essential for bones. Apart from this, milk also helps in removing problems like constipation, insomnia and stress. Thus, consumption of milk is extremely beneficial for our health.
Milk and Obesity: A Study
Are you also avoiding milk? A study has found that children who consume whole and combined cow’s milk have less risk of obesity. The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, was conducted by St. Michael’s Hospital of Unity Health in Toronto. The study analyzed 28 studies conducted in seven countries, involving 21,000 children up to 18 years of age. According to lead researcher Dr. Jonathan Maguire, children who drank low-fat milk at age 2 were not found to be leaner than those who drank full-fat milk.
