health care in summer

The temperature in Delhi-NCR has gone above 35 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has warned that there is no possibility of respite from the heat in the coming days. The risk of heatstroke increases at this time, so it is important to take special care of health. Children and the elderly should take care of their health to avoid the effects of heat stroke and heat wave.

Importance of hydration

Dehydration can cause heat stroke. Therefore, one should drink water at regular intervals to keep the body hydrated. An adult should drink 2 to 3 liters of water a day. Along with water, consumption of coconut water, lemon water or ORS is also beneficial.

Choosing the Right Diet

Include seasonal fruits in your diet, like watermelon, melon and cucumber. These fruits not only provide nutrition but also prevent water loss in the body.

Choosing summer clothes

It is better to wear cotton clothes in summer season. Cotton absorbs sweat and keeps the body cool. Synthetic or polyester clothes should be avoided.

Be careful while going out

Use an umbrella or scarf when leaving the house. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen to avoid tanning and sunburn.

What not to do?

Avoid eating junk food from outside, because fried foods can slow down digestion.

Stay away from coffee and sugary drinks in summer, as they can cause dehydration in the body.

Avoid leaving the house between 12 noon and 4 pm, unless it is necessary.
