New Delhi: Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is maintaining its strong hold at the box office. After performing brilliantly in the first weekend of its release, the film may have seen a decline in its earnings on Monday, but it has surprised trade experts by showing a bounce again on Tuesday.
The trend of the film’s earnings shows that ‘Bhoot Bangla’ can prove to be a long race horse. The special thing is that there has been an improvement in the film’s earnings even in the weekdays, due to which the expectations of it touching big figures by the second weekend have increased.

The film received a positive response on the day of its release, leading to a gross of ₹12.25 crore. In the first weekend, the film made a total net collection of ₹58 crore in India.
On Monday, the film’s earnings dropped to ₹6.75 crore, but on Tuesday it made a strong comeback and earned ₹8 crore.

The film has also performed well in the overseas market. After an average opening day, the film grossed $1 million internationally on its second and third days.
The film’s total overseas collection has crossed $30 lakh, adding $2.7 lakh in foreign countries on the fifth day.
Thus, the worldwide collection of Bhoot Bangla has reached ₹118 crore. If this pace continues, the film may cross the ₹150 crore mark by the second weekend.
Achievement of leaving the ‘wolf’ behind
With a global gross of ₹118 crore, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has become the third highest-grossing Hindi film of this year. It has left behind Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ (₹92 crore) and Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Mardaani 3’ (₹78 crore).
The biggest thing is that the film has also crossed the lifetime earnings (₹90 crore) of Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Bhediya’. Now its next target is to leave behind ‘Munjya’ (₹132 crore), after which the focus will be on films like ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’.

‘Bhoot Bangla’ is directed by Priyadarshan, who is returning to Hindi cinema after five years. This is also her first project with Akshay Kumar after 14 years.
