Announcement of new release date of Thalapathy Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayakan’

Mumbai: The new release date of South’s famous actor Thalapathy Vijay’s much awaited film ‘Jana Nayakan’ has now been revealed. The film will now release in theaters globally on May 8, 2026. This political action drama is considered to be the last film of Vijay’s career, due to which there is an atmosphere of excitement among his fans.

According to recent reports, the new release date of the film has been set for 8 May 2026. The team of the film is going to make its official announcement soon. Earlier this film was scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, but it had to be postponed due to delay in certification from the censor board and leak of the film. The entire copy of the film was leaked on the internet, causing huge losses to the producers.

Following the leak, Vijay’s co-stars Pooja Hegde and Mamita Baiju had expressed their displeasure on social media. Many South stars also supported Vijay and appealed not to share pirated content. Now overcoming all the hurdles, the film is all set to hit the screens on 8th May. ‘Jana Nayakan’ is directed by H. Vinoth. In this film, along with Vijay, actors like Pooja Hegde, Mamita Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narayan are in important roles. The music director is Anirudh Ravichander.

The film is being produced by KVN Productions and is considered to be a remake of the Telugu film ‘Bhagavantha Kesari’. Vijay will be seen playing the role of a former police officer in this film, who adopts a young girl and empowers her. The story is full of politics, action and emotions.
