Mumbai: Everyone likes the magic of Bollywood’s musical romance. Subhash Ghai’s 1999 film ‘Taal’ is still remembered in the hearts of the audience for its beautiful songs, colorful scenes and heart-touching story. The trio of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay Khanna and Anil Kapoor mesmerized the audience at that time. Now, 27 years later, the discussion about its sequel ‘Taal 2’ is in full swing.

Script of ‘Taal 2’ almost complete

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently shared information about this project. He told in an interview that the script of ‘Taal 2’ is almost ready. He said that after a good script, the biggest challenge is casting. Ghai believes that the secret of the original film’s success lay in its new faces. At that time, Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Khanna had won the hearts of the audience with their hard work and performance.

Now an attempt will be made to repeat the same magic in ‘Taal 2’. The biggest question in the minds of fans was whether Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Khanna will return in the sequel? Subhash Ghai gave a clear answer on this. He said that the original cast could no longer be cast in lead roles as their age had increased with time. It does not seem possible to carry forward the original story in the same form. Therefore the film will be made with a completely new story and new actors.

Ghai also said that there are never any cameos or gimmicks in his films. If needed, big stars can be requested, but the decision will be taken according to the character. He praised the new faces of ‘Sayara’, Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda, but also clarified that the characters in ‘Taal 2’ should be such that they are completely new and fresh. This means that fans will get to see a new pair and new energy.

‘Taal’ was a story of a singer’s struggle, which was a mixture of love, heartbreak and stardom. The songs of the film are still liked by people of all ages. A.R. Rahman’s music and Anand Bakshi’s lyrics were amazing. ‘Taal 2’ will also be a musical love story, but with a completely new look and modern touch. Subhash Ghai himself is handling the production and plans to present the film in the same stunning visual style that was the hallmark of the first film.

At present, there has been no official announcement regarding the shooting or release date of the film. Everything is depending on the casting. When the right time and right faces are found, the project can move forward rapidly. Fans are very excited about this sequel, especially those who still remember the musical romances of the 90s.
