On this special occasion, Isha wore a dress created in collaboration with Manish Malhotra and Swadesh at the Vogue pre-party. The dress was completely handmade, with beautifully carved details of Indian craftsmanship. Swadesh, an initiative of Reliance Retail, aims to promote artisans and their art across the country.
Her strapless dress was decorated with 26 different traditional borders, representing different regions of India. The outfit was in line with this year’s ‘Costume Art’ theme and can be considered a living symbol of the diversity of Indian fashion.
Incorporation of traditional textiles
Many famous textile techniques from across the country were incorporated in this dress. It featured a mix of traditional arts like zari workmanship of Uttar Pradesh, Parsi Gara embroidery, Maheshwari weaving of Madhya Pradesh, Kanjeevaram silk of Tamil Nadu, Paithani of Maharashtra, Banarasi brocade and Kantha embroidery of West Bengal.
Moreover, the intricate embroidery like karchobi, aari and tilla made this attire even more special. It took the artisans more than 450 hours to create this dress, which shows its meticulousness and hard work.
Isha’s look and stylist
This look of Isha was prepared by celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania. She complemented it with attractive jewellery, the highlight of which was the metallic braid accessory from the Outhouse brand. Apart from this, smokey eye makeup and bold look further enhanced her style.
Heavy earrings and ring cuff added a touch of glamor to her entire look. Isha Ambani has been making her frequent presence felt at the Met Gala for the last few years and remains in the news with her look every time.
Preparation for Met Gala 2026
Now curiosity about Met Gala 2026 has increased. This prestigious event is going to be held on May 4 this year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Viewers in India will be able to watch the live telecast on Vogue’s YouTube channel from around 3:30 am on May 5.
