Iran’s attack and India’s response
New Delhi: India has expressed its strong displeasure after the attack on the oil field in Fujairah Port of United Arab Emirates (UAE). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also given his reaction on this incident. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, on Monday, Iran launched multiple cruise missiles and drone strikes targeting the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, injuring three Indian citizens. Iran has blamed America for this attack.
India’s strong message
The Government of India has clarified that three Indian citizens were injured in the attack and this type of act will not be accepted. This is being considered a violation of the ceasefire between America and Iran. The government has appealed to all parties to immediately end the violence and said civilians should not be targeted. India has called talks as the solution to the problem and said that under international law, the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz should continue without any hindrance.
UAE security action
The UAE Foreign Ministry has informed that on May 4, they intercepted several missiles fired by Iran in the air. Officials said Iran attacked with 3 cruise and 12 ballistic missiles. He also said that since the start of the war in the Middle East, their air defense systems have intercepted about 29 cruise missiles, 549 ballistic missiles and 2260 drones.
