Although, we often use grandmother’s remedies and products available in the market, but do we know how beneficial these are for our teeth? We often get influenced by advertisements and buy products which are actually not that effective.

Correct use of electric toothbrush

1. Electric Toothbrush: It helps in cleaning teeth and is also helpful in removing plaque. However, its correct use is necessary. Many people press too hard, which causes the bristles to bend. The electric toothbrush starts working as soon as it comes in contact with the teeth. Therefore, it is necessary to know the correct way.

Side effects of whitening toothpaste

2. Whitening toothpaste: There are many brands of whitening toothpaste available in the market, which claim to whiten teeth. But the chemicals present in them form a temporary layer on the teeth and cause sensitivity. Additionally, they can deposit a yellow layer on the gums, causing the teeth to darken.

Use of water after brushing

3. Do not use excess water after brushing: We often rinse the mouth with water after brushing, but this can be harmful for the teeth. This reduces the amount of fluoride. If you must clean your mouth, use non-alcohol mouthwash and do not eat anything for at least 30 minutes after brushing.

brushing technique

4. Don’t brush too fast: It is wrong to brush teeth with too much pressure. This may damage the gums. Brushing techniques should be varied so that all gums are cleaned. The brush should always be moved in a circular motion.
