Importance of time spent at home and psychological studies
Importance of time spent at home
New Delhi: Some people are busy traveling during holidays, meeting friends and exploring new places, while others prefer to spend time at home. They are often considered introverts, but recent psychological studies show that the reason behind liking to stay at home may not only be nature, but also emotional attachment.
study information
According to a study published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology in 2024, a person’s attachment to his home depends on how much comfort, security and mental peace he finds there. When home becomes a place of stress relief and emotional support, people naturally like to spend more time there.
research participants
More than 650 participants were included in this study. Researchers asked them what is the importance of home to them and how they feel there. About 87 percent of the participants said that their home is the place where they get relief from the day’s fatigue and mental pressure. For them, home is not just a place of residence but also a place to mentally rejuvenate themselves.
Study findings
The research also found that the size of the house or its price is not the most important thing. What is of real importance is how safe and happy the person living in that house feels there. If there is love and good relationships in the home, even a small house can be very relaxing.
According to the study, people who get family support and their own personal space at home, their emotional connection with their home becomes stronger. Such people look forward to returning home because they find mental peace and comfort there.
However, if there is tension, fights or lack of privacy at home, a person’s attachment to the home may gradually decrease. Such people may prefer to spend less time at home and more time outside.
