alpha movie first day earnings and reviews

Alpha film starts at the box office

First day earnings of Alpha movie: Yash Raj Films’ new spy film ‘Alpha’ has taken a satisfactory start at the box office on its first day. The film, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, has grossed Rs 16.10 crore globally. According to trade website Sacknilk, the film collected Rs 9.25 crore nett and Rs 11.10 crore gross in India. With Rs 5 crore received from overseas, the total worldwide collection reached Rs 16.10 crore.

20 percent occupancy was recorded in 7534 shows on the first day. This figure is better than some other films of this year. ‘Alpha’ left behind the opening collections of Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Mardaani 3’ (7.30 crore) and Alia Bhatt’s previous film ‘Jigra’ (7.46 crore). However, it has proved to be the lowest opening film of Yash Raj’s espionage universe.

Story and cast of the film

‘Alpha’ directed by Shiv Rawail is his first film. In this, Alia Bhatt is in the lead role, while Sharvari Wagh, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor are seen in important roles. Hrithik Roshan also has a cameo in the film. The story is written by Uday Chopra, which depicts the journey of a girl who is groomed by a rogue soldier into a dreaded assassin. When she discovers the truth about her past, she stands up against herself.

Mixed reviews and trolling

Response to the film: Before its release, the film faced a lot of trolling on social media. Post-release reviews were also mixed to negative. Nevertheless, audiences decided to watch the film in theaters and it received a good opening. Karan Johar supported the film amid trolling. Trade analysts believe that the opening of ‘Alpha’ is better than average. The action and combination of Alia-Sharvari on the big screen is attracting the audience.

The film’s earnings are expected to increase in the weekend. The earlier films of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe like ‘War’, ‘Tiger’ and ‘Pathan’ had a great start. ‘Alpha’ did not reach that level, but a new attempt has definitely been made with a women-centric story. The audience is now waiting for the weekend collection.
