Haryana Weather (Chandigarh): The south-west monsoon has now arrived in the state, but the wait for good rains is still on. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon activities will intensify from today. For this reason, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in seven districts including Ambala.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Nuh and Palwal today. Apart from this, there may also be rain in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Panipat. There is a possibility of light rain at some places in Jhajjar, Rohtak, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri.
The rain will continue till July 11
According to the bulletin of the Meteorological Department, this series of rains is expected to continue from July 8 to 11. Monsoon activities have been minimal so far in July, but there is a possibility of further increase. The Department of Agricultural Meteorology of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University has also issued a forecast of change in weather till July 10.
Monsoon favorable conditions
Meteorologists say that due to the depression forming in the Arabian Sea and the cyclonic circulation developing in Rajasthan, favorable conditions are being created for the advance of monsoon. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, strong winds in most areas of the state and heavy rain at some places. Rain will cause drop in day temperature and increase in humidity in the atmosphere.
Rain required for Kharif crop
It should be noted that it had rained in many districts of the state the previous day also. This monsoon season, there is sporadic rain in the state, whereas paddy, the main Kharif crop, needs good and heavy rain so that its germination can be better.
