Material
Moong dal – 1 cup
Onion – 1
Green chillies – 2-3
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Bread crumbs or rice flour – half cup
Green Coriander – 2 tbsp
Roasted cumin powder – half teaspoon
Red chilli powder – half teaspoon
Chaat masala – half teaspoon
salt as per taste
Oil – for frying
Method of preparation
First, drain the soaked moong dal thoroughly. Then put it in a mixer and grind it lightly without water. Keep in mind that the paste should not be too fine, otherwise the cutlets will not become crunchy.
Now take out the ground lentils in a big vessel and add green chillies, finely chopped onion, green coriander, grated ginger and all the dry spices and mix well.
Add rice flour or bread crumbs to add crispness. Mix everything well.
Now apply some oil on your hands, take a small portion of the mixture, give it the shape of your choice and prepare cutlets.
Place a non-stick pan or tawa on the gas, add 2-3 spoons of oil in it and heat it. When the oil is hot, place the cutlets on the pan and cook on low to medium flame until they become golden and crisp on both sides.
If you are on a diet and don’t want to eat oil, you can bake these cutlets in an air fryer or oven.
Thus, hot and super healthy moong dal cutlets are ready. Serve them with green chutney or ketchup.
