Kartik Aryan and Mammootty received the Best Actor title at the 72nd National Film Awards
72nd National Film Awards announced
Mumbai The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Center on Saturday. This time Bollywood actor Kartik Aryan and Malayalam cinema veteran Mammootty were awarded the Best Actor award.
Mammootty received this honor for his film ‘Brahmayugam’, while Karthik was given the award for his outstanding performance in the sports biopic ‘Chandu Champion’. Apart from this, actress Yami Gautam received the Best Actress title for the film ‘Article 370’. Multistarrer film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ received the Best Feature Film award.
Rajkumar Rao’s film ‘Srikanth – Aa Raha Hai Sabki Aankhen Khune’ got the title of Best Hindi Film. Director Sukumar was given the National Award for Best Screenplay for ‘Pushpa 2’. Composer Shashwat Sachdev received the Best Music Direction award for ‘Article 370’. The award for Best Production Design went to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, while ‘Stree 2’ was given the award for Best Choreography. The 72nd National Film Awards 2024 have recognized the excellence of Indian cinema. These awards were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
These awards were evaluated by an 11-member central jury, chaired by eminent Malayalam filmmaker Jayaraj. Jayaraj conducted the final selection process after reviewing the entries received from across the country.
The program is organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) and has a well-established jury. These awards aim to honor the artistic and technical achievements of Indian cinema. The date of the National Awards ceremony has not been announced yet, but it is likely to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where traditionally the President of India presents the National Film Awards to the winners. The previous 70th and 71st National Film Awards were also held at the same venue.
