The NEET exam paper leak controversy and social activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike are no longer limited to just the students’ movement. For the past few weeks, students across the country have been demanding transparency and accountability in the examination system. From Jantar Mantar to social media, this issue remains a topic of constant discussion. Initially some film personalities had given their opinion on this, but now many prominent Bollywood actors are also raising their voice in support of the students, due to which this debate is becoming more widespread.
Discussions started with Salman Khan’s post
An interesting discussion is going on these days on social media. Many users say that after actor Salman Khan’s post on July 22, many film stars started expressing their opinions in support of the students. However, this claim has not been independently verified and there is no evidence to suggest that the two incidents are linked. Nevertheless, discussion continues on social media regarding the timing of the posts. Salman Khan in his message appreciated the peaceful movement of the students and termed the paper leak as a serious issue. Later he appealed to the students to return home and expressed confidence of the government taking action against the culprits and urged Sonam Wangchuk to end her hunger strike.
Concern over the education system of Bollywood stars
Following Salman Khan’s reaction, many actors like Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday shared their opinions on social media. These responses emphasized the need for a fair examination system, respect for students’ hard work, and the need for their voices to be heard. Kareena Kapoor wrote that children’s loss of trust in the education system is a matter of concern for the future of the entire country. Varun Dhawan called the students the future of the country and appealed to listen to their demands seriously. Alia Bhatt praised the courage of the students and said that this struggle is also related to the coming generations, while Ananya Panday described the tendency of the new generation to ask questions as positive for a democratic society.
Growing discussions, but too early to draw conclusions
Earlier, artists like Shabana Azmi, Sonu Sood, Prakash Raj and Dia Mirza have also expressed their opinion in support of the students. At the same time, questions were also raised on social media as to why some other famous personalities are still silent on this issue. Later some artists also shared their reactions, while many are still avoiding public comment. Meanwhile, debate is raging on the internet whether the growing student movement inspired film personalities to speak out, or is it just a coincidence that the reactions came out at the same time. At present there is no official confirmation of these speculations. It is clear that the NEET controversy has now attracted the attention of the entertainment world as well and the public discussion on the education system has become more widespread than ever before.
