CISF launches e-service book portal, retired personnel will get pension benefits…

New Delhi: With an aim to provide all pension benefits on the date of retirement itself, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday launched the e-Service Book portal. It will be accessible to all personnel. Deepak Verma, Deputy Inspector General, CISF, said that the new initiative has been designed to streamline and speed up the pension processing system for our retired personnel to ensure that they get all pension benefits on the date of retirement.

Till now, physical transfer of service book leads to delay of several months in payment of retirement dues. He said it will also be beneficial to provide serving personnel online access to their service book and updating it. The new digital framework will eliminate the need for physical transfer of service books. Verma said that a key feature of the e-Service Book is its real-time tracking capability. Current or retired personnel can now monitor the status of pension files in real-time, ensuring transparency and accountability. This eliminates the need for constant follow-up and provides timely updates to all concerned. This will directly benefit about 2400 employees who retire every year. The current system involves physical transfer of service books between multiple offices, which often leads to delays and errors. This is especially problematic for units located in remote areas, as the process becomes more time-consuming and prone to mistakes.

Verma said that to resolve these issues and ensure timely pension disbursement, an online portal has been designed before finalizing the inputs from Principal CCA (Home), Ministry of Home Affairs and PAO/RAPO. Another major advantage of e-Service Book is that it acts as a collaborative platform. All stakeholders including parent unit, higher administrative structure and RPAO/PAO can now collaborate seamlessly on a single platform. This leads to efficient communication, quick resolution of queries and timely updation of service data. He said that apart from streamlining the pension process, the e-Service Book empowers serving personnel by providing them online access to their service books. This allows them to monitor their service records, identify any discrepancies and initiate timely corrective action.

By ensuring accuracy and completeness of service records, e-service book helps serving personnel to plan their career progression and retirement benefits effectively. He said that this will increase transparency in the organization. According to Verma, the e-Service Book of CISF is a major step towards modernizing the pension processing system and enhancing the service experience for CISF personnel. He said that by providing more efficient, transparent and convenient service, CISF aims to set new standards in service delivery.
