CJI Chandrachud made a big announcement: Now all the cases in the Supreme Court will be telecast live.

Taking an important decision, the Supreme Court has decided to do live streaming of the hearing of all the cases. An app for live telecast of all the benches of the apex court is in the final stages of testing. Till now only the hearing of cases before the Constitution Bench was telecast live, but on the initiative of Chief Justice Justice DY Chandrachud, it is being extended to all the benches. The decision has been taken. This is the first time that day-to-day hearings are telecast live.

In 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Court streamed live hearings of three Constitution benches on YouTube and other social media platforms for the first time, which continues to this day and has spread to all courts. On 27 September 2022, the hearing of three Constitution benches of the Supreme Court was live streamed for the first time, with over 8 lakh people watching.

The Supreme Court later said that this step will remove the challenges of people from remote areas and people from all over the country will get an opportunity to watch the proceedings of the Supreme Court.

Justice DY Chandrachud is known to have done a lot during his tenure. By using technology, he has not only tried to improve and bring transparency in the allocation of cases, but has also brought about a major change in the system of speedy hearing. He will retire on November 10, and Justice Sanjiv Khanna will be the next Chief Justice of the country.
