CJP targets government over JEE data becoming public, demands dismissal of Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Thursday said the data of JEE (Advanced) 2026 candidates allegedly made public due to a technical issue related to ‘cloud storage configuration’ in the result portal shows how “incompetent” people are running the country’s education system and digital infrastructure.

The leaders associated with this campaign started on social media appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately dismiss Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and said that he has failed to ensure accountability in the education sector. CJP leaders said at a press conference here that the incident has raised new concerns over the security of student data and government management of examination systems.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka was appointed the campaign spokesperson on Wednesday. He said that the disclosure of candidates’ information reflects the poor state of cyber security measures. Ranka is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and London School of Economics.

Ranka said, “The names, phone numbers and photographs of about two lakh students were made public. The education minister and the government of the same country which has produced technocrats to lead the top technology companies around the world are so incompetent that they are not able to operate the basic systems safely.” He said, ”The education minister is completely incompetent.

They have completely ruined the education system. We appeal to the Prime Minister to immediately dismiss Dharmendra Pradhan. This is a question of the future of our students and a lot is at stake.

He also said that government institutions require individuals with scientific temper and technical proficiency. Questioning the response of IIT Roorkee, which conducted the exam as the nodal body this year, Ranka said the institute’s claim that the data made public was in “read-only” mode does not diminish the seriousness of the issue.

“IIT Roorkee said the data is read-only,” he said. Is this a joke? You are saying that it can be read but not edited. A basic IIT portal cannot be run securely. Sixteen, seventeen and eighteen year old youth are finding flaws in it and reporting it to CERT. This shows the level of efficiency of the people running the system.

IIT-Roorkee on Tuesday confirmed that there was a technical issue related to ‘cloud storage configuration’ in the JEE (Advanced) 2026 result portal. The institute had said that the stored data was in ‘read-only’ mode, so there was no possibility of any change in the records. Ranka demanded that the government make public details of all data leak incidents and cyber security lapses. He said, “We want to know where the data of this country has reached and who has access to it. Details of all such data leaks, especially those that could affect national security, should be made public.

Ranka rejected speculation that the June 6 agitation proposed by CJP could turn violent. He reiterated his commitment to carrying out peaceful demonstrations. “Rumours about violence are being spread,” he said. Cockroach Janata Party calls for peaceful and democratic protests in accordance with law and order. We appeal to people to stay away from violence.

CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke, who is pursuing higher education in America, after reaching Delhi at 8 am on June 6, will go to Sansad Marg police station to seek permission for the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The CJP said climate activist Sonam Wangchuk will also join the proposed protest.
