Protesters FIR Case: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has increased pressure on the government regarding the cases registered against the protesters and the people detained. Party spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka warned on Monday that if the FIRs registered against the protesters were not withdrawn soon and those detained were not released, the organization would be forced to start the movement again.
Government accused of violating the agreement
Ashutosh Ranka posted on social media platform X, tagging Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. He alleged that the government had given assurance of not taking punitive action against the protesters, but now that agreement is not being followed.
Claim of arrest in Bihar and West Bengal
Ranka claimed that a large number of students have been arrested in Bihar and West Bengal. He also alleged that protesters in many other states, including Delhi, were being monitored and harassed.
Warning of agitation if demands are not met
CJP spokesperson said that if the government does not take immediate action, the organization will have to take to the streets again. He demanded that the FIRs lodged against all the protesters be cancelled, the detained students be immediately released and no new FIRs be lodged against any protestor in future.
Demand to hand over copy of written agreement
Ashutosh Ranka demanded from the government that a copy of the written agreement regarding the protest should be made available to him and all the conditions should be implemented as per the stipulated deadline. He said that the government should stick to its promise.
Controversy over action after Bihar protests
This statement has come after the demonstrations in Bihar on 22 and 25 July. Controversy continues regarding the legal cases filed after these demonstrations. Lawyers claim that about 200 people are still in custody in different police stations of the state. At the same time, CJP has demanded immediate action from the government regarding this entire matter.
