New Delhi. The deaths due to contaminated water in Indore’s Bhagirathpura, which has the title of the cleanest city in the country, has now taken the form of a big political storm. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has termed it as ‘murder of the right to life’.

Launching a front against the BJP government, Rahul Gandhi wrote on X Post on Friday that there was no water in Indore, poison was distributed and the administration was in Kumbhakarni sleep. There is mourning in every house, the poor are helpless – and on top of that the arrogant statements of BJP leaders. Those in whose homes the stoves had gone out needed solace; The government acted arrogantly. He said that people repeatedly complained about dirty, smelly water, yet why was no hearing held?

Rahul Gandhi wrote that how did sewerage get into drinking water? Why was the supply not stopped in time? When will action be taken against responsible officers and leaders? He said that this is not a ‘focus’ question, this is a demand for accountability. Clean water is not a favor, it is a right to life. And BJP’s double engine, its careless administration and insensitive leadership are completely responsible for killing this right.

Rahul Gandhi said that Madhya Pradesh has now become the epicenter of misadministration. Somewhere there were deaths due to cough syrup, somewhere there were rats killing children in the government hospital and now there were deaths due to drinking water mixed with sewerage. He said that whenever the poor die, Modi ji remains silent as always.
