climate change in many parts of the country; Met department predicts heavy rain with lightning
New Delhi : A drastic change in the atmosphere has been observed for the past few days. Due to the intense heat of March, the sun is beating well. Now an important update has been given by the Meteorological Department. According to the Meteorological Department forecast, the maximum temperature in northwest India is likely to increase by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the next three days. Heavy rains with thunderbolts have been warned in various parts of the country in the coming days.
Many parts of the country are likely to see a drop of 4 to 7 degrees in the next two days. Temperatures in central India may also drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in a few days. Western India, particularly Gujarat and Maharashtra, may also see a slight decline. The weather has taken a sudden turn in the face of rising heat in the country. Thunderstorm, gusty winds and rains have started in many states due to influence of active westerly winds in various parts and cyclonic storm. According to the latest information provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there are warnings of thunder, lightning and heavy rain in various parts of the country in the coming days, which will also cause fluctuations in temperature.
The main reason behind this major change in climate is the Western Disturbance and the cyclical nature of the winds. A Western Disturbance is a system that originates in the Mediterranean region and reaches North India, causing rain and snowfall. Currently, this system is active over Punjab. A subtropical westerly jet stream is also active over eastern India, increasing cloud formation and rainfall intensity.
