CM Bhagwant Mann got angry on E-20 petrol, said – now injustice will not be done to consumers, made a big appeal to the people across the country.

Chandigarh: Raising voice against the problems arising due to E-20 petrol, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday called upon the people to unite and join the fight against the injustice being done to consumers through the supply of E-20 petrol.

Appealing to support the campaign launched by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister urged citizens across the country to sign the online petition on stopE20petrol.com so that the concerns of those affected by the issue can reach the Prime Minister.

Appeal to sign online petition

In a video message, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "Every citizen should raise their voice by signing this petition, so that the BJP led central government, which has deliberately ignored this serious issue, is forced to take corrective steps."

Arvind Kejriwal’s two main demands

The Chief Minister said, "From motorcycles to other vehicles, people across the country are facing various types of problems in their vehicles due to E-20 petrol. Against this exploitation, Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to the Prime Minister with two important demands. First, people should have the freedom to choose the petrol of their choice between pure petrol and E-20 petrol. Secondly, the price of E-20 petrol should be reduced immediately. Every signature is important to convey the voice of the people to the central government."

Damage to vehicles and increasing concerns due to E-20 petrol

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "E-20 petrol is causing huge damage to vehicles across the country. The mileage of vehicles has reduced and people are continuously raising this issue with the central government. It is unfortunate that despite the growing concerns of the public, the BJP led central government did not pay any attention to this. On the contrary, there is a growing concern among vehicle owners that the vehicles purchased with their hard-earned money may cause serious damage to the engines."

Mention of visit to vehicle repair center

He said, "Arvind Kejriwal himself came into the field to listen to the complaints of the people. During a visit to a vehicle repair centre, he saw long queues of broken down vehicles and experienced great anger among the people. After this, he immediately wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed for his intervention without any delay. Will the Central Government wake up only when the seriousness of the damage caused to vehicles comes to the notice of the Prime Minister?"

Consumers should be given the right to choose the petrol of their choice.

The Chief Minister said that consumers should have the right to choose what type of petrol they want to buy as per their requirement. He said that instead of selling both types of petrol at the same price, the price of E-20 petrol should be lower than pure petrol. Charging a flat price benefits big oil companies, while putting unnecessary economic burden on ordinary consumers.

Demand for reconsideration of the decision from the Central Government

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "This online petition started by Arvind Kejriwal is a fight for every citizen of the country. Every person should raise his voice on this issue, because it directly impacts people and their families. I appeal to all citizens to sign the online petition. Our collective struggle can force the Central Government to seriously consider this issue and find a solution. The need of the hour is that the Central Government should reconsider its decision."
