CM Fadnavis launches ‘Project Mahadev’ with Lionel Messi, 60 children will get scholarship

Lionel Messi launches Project Mahadev: Argentine star footballer Lionel Messi reached Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed him. On this occasion, CM Fadnavis officially launched ‘Project Mahadev’ Launched. ‘Project Mahadev’ aims to provide transformational support to the state’s school-going boys and girls and help them achieve their football dreams.

Keeping in mind the goal of getting maximum gold medals from Maharashtra under Mission Olympics 2026 and preparing for the Football World Cup by 2034, ‘Project Mahadev’ is being implemented. ‘Project Mahadev’ This initiative is being jointly implemented through Maharashtra Institution for Transformation, Village Social Transformation Foundation, Western India Football Association, CIDCO and Sports Department of Maharashtra Government.

What did Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis say?

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that ‘Project Mahadev’ This is an important initiative of the Maharashtra government, through which football talent will be discovered among the youth below 13 years of age in the entire state and high class players will be prepared. Under this initiative, scholarships, world-class training by foreign trainers and opportunities for all-round development will be provided. Selected 60 players (30 boys, 30 girls) will be provided full residential scholarship for 5 years.

On this occasion, Lionel Messi was accompanied by former Argentine players Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul, Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, MP Praful Patel, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, popular Indian football player Sunil Chhetri, Indian football team captain Rahul Bheke, Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Institution for Transformation Praveen Pardeshi, Smt. Amrita Devendra Fadnavis, GOAT Tour Promoter Sattadur Dutta, Tiger Many dignitaries were present including Shroff, Ajay Devgan, Kartik Aryan, and Dino Morea.

Tendulkar gifted jersey to Messi

On this occasion, the world’s greatest cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also met Messi. He also gave his signed jersey to Messi. Tendulkar said, ‘He sincerely thanks everyone for the world famous football player Lionel Messi and his colleagues for coming to India and especially to Mumbai.
