Investment of Rs 51 thousand 500 crore in Maharashtra's kitty so far, CM Fadnavis signed 5 MoUs in Davos

Davos: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's visit to Davos has proved to be very fruitful for Maharashtra. During the 'Summit 2025' of the World Economic Forum, the first three big projects have come in Maharashtra's kitty. Due to this, foreign investment (FDI) worth Rs 51 thousand 500 crore has come into the kitty of Maharashtra. This will create 20 thousand 650 new jobs in the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has signed 5 MOUs so far.

CM Fadnavis signed the first MoU (Memorandum of Investment Understanding) for Gadchiroli in Davos. Under this, Kalyani Group will invest Rs 5,200 crore in the steel industry in Gadchiroli. Kalyani Industrial Group has signed an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra in this regard.

Signed five MoUs

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is present at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland. This year India has sent its largest delegation to this five-day long conference. The delegation led by Chief Minister Fadnavis, representing Maharashtra, signed five MoUs on Tuesday.

During this period, a second MoU worth Rs 5200 crore was signed with Kalyani Group, a second MoU worth Rs 16,500 crore with Reliance Infrastructure and a third MoU worth Rs 17,000 crore was signed with Balasore Alloys Limited. Similarly, on Tuesday, an MoU worth Rs 12000 crore was signed with Viraj Profiles Private Limited.

Thousands of jobs will be created

For the second agreement, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Satish Sheth of Reliance Infrastructure signed the MoU, while for the third agreement, Satish Kaushik of Balasore Alloys Limited signed the MoU. Meanwhile, Neeraj Raja Kochhar, Managing Director and Chairman of Viraj Profiles Private Limited, signed the fourth MoU with CM Devendra. 4000 jobs will be created from the first MOU, 2450 from the second, 3200 from the third and 3500 from the fourth.

Positive discussion with PepsiCo also

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Devendra also met Eugene Willemsen, CEO of MMSEA and AMS International and International Beverages Beverages and Stephen of PepsiCo in Davos. The discussion was positive. During the discussion it was revealed that PepsiCo is initially thinking of setting up a major chain in Nashik. PepsiCo plans to expand across Maharashtra later.

PepsiCo expressed interest in partnering with agriculture and food science universities and highlighted its efforts in recycling plastics and building a circular economy.
