How is it possible for democracy to win in the defeat of daughters? On Women Bill not being passed, CM Rekha Gupta said – “I am a girl, I can fight, people are opposing it”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed disappointment over the non-passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha and strongly attacked the opposition. He said, “What we saw in three days was very regrettable. The daughters have been struggling since independence till now.”
She said, “I am a girl, I can fight, people are opposing this. They are saying that now democracy is victorious. How is the victory of democracy possible in the defeat of daughters? The opposition had decided that they have to say something or the other, so that the bill is not allowed to come. Sometimes they talked about quota within quota, sometimes something else. All this was already written in the bill which was in 2023. Delemination was certain to happen, now what happened.”
He said, “They are talking about agreeing to 543, who would give up seats for 180 men and women. PM Modi had brought a win-win situation, no one gets harmed. Everyone knows and understands the subject of the country. There is no OBC quota in the sub-general, so why is it needed in the women quota. Muslims are becoming very well-wishers for women, the seats on which they are sitting as abbots, they are afraid of them.” What will we do if an ordinary woman wins?”
Encouragement of women through poetry
CM Rekha Gupta also posted a poem on her ex-handle and encouraged women. He said, “The more the iron heats, the more strength it gains. The more fire gold gets, the brighter it shines.” He said, “These women, the daughters of the country, they are all shining gold, red-hot iron and they will make their place, fight their battle and in this fight we are happy that the Prime Minister is with the daughters of the country.”
CM Rekha Gupta said, “The opposition calls itself a big well-wisher of Muslim women. But when the triple talaq law came, why did you oppose it? And when the court had given its decision in the Shah Bano case, why did the Congress overturn that decision by making a law? Then where were your sympathies towards Muslim women? Today we talk about quota among quotas, then tell me, what did you do when you had the chance?”
CM Rekha Gupta said, “PM Modi said that this Congress party is the All India Anti-Reform Congress. Whenever any reform has come in the country, they have opposed it.” He said, “Even after 78 years of independence, the daughters of the country have not got the full right to reach the Assembly and the Lok Sabha. Even today they are struggling, fighting, struggling to move forward.”
