Big decision of CM Rekha Gupta; Change in office timings in Delhi, 90 days special campaign for fuel saving started

CM Rekha Gupta has decided to change the timings of government offices in the capital, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to save petrol and diesel. According to the new order, Delhi offices will now operate from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. Whereas the timings of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) offices have been fixed from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The government said that this step has been taken with the aim of saving fuel, promoting public transport and reducing pressure on foreign exchange. Along with this, a 90-day special public campaign has also been started in the capital, under which people will be motivated to adopt energy conservation and environment friendly measures.

Delhi government will launch a special campaign to strengthen the economic stability of the country in the era of global uncertainty. This campaign has been named ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Contribution’, under which there is a plan to develop the capital as a practical and motivational model. According to the Chief Minister, the objective of this initiative is to promote self-reliance, better utilization of resources and public participation at the administrative level, so that economic stability can be strengthened. Along with this, the government has taken a major administrative decision and issued an order to ban government employees and ministers from traveling abroad for one year.

AC temperature also fixed

Under the new system, it will be mandatory to keep the temperature of air conditioners in government offices between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius. Also, main switches and sensor based lighting systems will be installed in the offices, so that the power can be automatically switched off when the room is vacant. The Chief Minister said that this will be a 3-month special public campaign, under which people will be appealed to save fuel, increase the use of public transport and reduce unnecessary foreign trips and unnecessary expenses.

Appeal to celebrate ‘No Vehicle Day’

The government has decided to launch ‘Metro Monday’ campaign. Under this initiative, every Monday ministers, senior officials and government employees will use Delhi Metro as much as possible, so that dependence on private vehicles can be reduced. Along with this, an appeal has been made to celebrate ‘No Vehicle Day’ one day a week, in which people will be motivated to reduce the use of private vehicles and adopt public transport. The government has also talked about running a special campaign to promote car pooling, car sharing and public transport.
