CM Saini cornered the opposition on women’s reservation, said – women’s rights are under attack

Haryana News: Naib Singh Saini, while holding a press conference in Rohtak regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, made a scathing attack on the opposition. He said that he is deeply hurt by the incidents that took place in the Parliament on 16th and 17th April and this is a direct attack on the rights of women of the country.

Three important bills were introduced

The Chief Minister said that the developments in Parliament were not only undemocratic, but would also affect the future of half the country’s population. He said that on April 16, the Central Government had introduced three important bills in the Lok Sabha, which included the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, Delimitation Bill and Union Territory Law Amendment Bill.

In the 2029 Lok Sabha elections…

He said that under the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, women’s reservation was linked to the census and delimitation to be held after 2026. But if this process was waited for, women would not have been able to get the benefit of 33 percent reservation even in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. For this reason the government decided to separate it from the condition of census.

Confusion and misinformation among the public

CM Saini alleged that Congress and its allies have worked to hinder women’s rights. He said that the opposition tried to spread confusion and misinformation among the public regarding delimitation.

India’s population has crossed 140 crores

The Chief Minister also clarified that the Union Home Minister has told the Parliament with facts that the representation of any state will not be reduced. Citing population figures, he said that in 1971, the country’s population was 54 crore, when the Lok Sabha seats were fixed at 550. Now the population has crossed 140 crores, hence it has become necessary to increase the number of seats to 850.

politics of stalling, hanging and diverting

Taking aim at the opposition, he said that Congress’s politics has always been of “atkao, latkao and bhatkao”. In the end he said that the women of the country will never forgive those who do politics on women’s rights.
