CM Siddaramaiah gets a big blow from the High Court, MUDA scam case will be run…

Bangalore:- Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has received a big setback from the Karnataka High Court. The Nagaprasanna Bench of the High Court dismissed the petition of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He had challenged the Governor's approval to prosecute him in the alleged MUDA scam.

Let us inform you that the single judge bench was hearing a petition filed by the Chief Minister, challenging the approval given by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to investigate against him in the alleged irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority.
Senior Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi represented Siddaramaiah, while Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued on behalf of Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot.

The court dismissed the petition

Justice Nagaprasanna ruled, “The facts stated in the petition will undoubtedly require investigation, despite the fact that the beneficiary of all these acts is not an outsider but the family of the petitioner. The petition is dismissed.”

The decision was reserved on 12 September

Earlier, he had reserved the decision in the case on September 12. In an interim order issued on August 19, the High Court granted temporary relief to Siddaramaiah and directed a special court in Bengaluru to stop further proceedings and refrain from taking any action based on the approval of the Governor.

What is MUDA scam

The controversy revolves around alleged irregularities in the allotment of compensation land. The scam relates to 3.2 acres of land gifted to the chief minister's wife Parvathy by her brother Mallikarjunaswamy in 2010. After MUDA acquired the land, Parvathy demanded compensation and was allotted 14 plots.

These plots are said to be worth much more than the original piece of land. Opposition parties claim that the total value of the scam could potentially be between Rs 3,000 crore and Rs 4,000 crore.
