‘CM suspense’ in Bihar: Who will be crowned after Nitish goes to Delhi? Discussion on many names, BJP can play a big bet?
Patna. The suspense regarding the post of Chief Minister is increasing in Bihar politics. After the talk of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar going to Delhi and taking the path to Rajya Sabha, now the biggest question is who will be the next Chief Minister of Bihar.
Many names are emerging rapidly in political circles. These include Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Samrat Choudhary, who came into limelight with the support of Union Minister Giriraj Singh, BJP’s youth leader Shreyasi Singh and even the name of Nishant Kumar from JDU is coming to the fore. At the same time, there is also a discussion within the BJP that the party may suddenly appoint a new and surprising face as the Chief Minister.
Nityanand Rai: Long running claim-
Former state president of BJP and current Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai is being considered a strong contender for the post of Chief Minister.
Nityanand Rai comes from the Yadav community, which is considered very influential in the politics of Bihar. According to the caste census data, the number of Yadavs in the state is very high and this is also the main vote bank of Rashtriya Janata Dal.
Political analysts believe that if BJP wants to strengthen its hold in the Yadav community, then making Nityanand Rai the Chief Minister can be a strategic move for it.
Samrat Chaudhary: Discussion of becoming CM from Deputy CM-
The name of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is also included in the race for the post of Chief Minister.
Samrat Chaudhary was earlier in other parties, but later joined BJP and rose rapidly. While being the state president, he had said that he would not take off his turban (muretha) until Nitish Kumar was removed from power. Later, when Nitish again returned to NDA, Samrat Chaudhary became Deputy Chief Minister with him.
Samrat Chaudhary comes from the Kushwaha community, which is considered an important social base in the politics of Bihar. However, till now there has been no example of any Deputy Chief Minister directly becoming the Chief Minister in Bihar, hence there is doubt about his claim.
Nishant Kumar: New face from JDU?
There is also discussion in political circles that JDU may try to make Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar the Chief Minister.
Although Nitish Kumar has been keeping his son away from active politics till now, but in case of his going to Delhi, this demand may gain momentum within JDU.
Nishant Kumar is still new in politics, but some party leaders are talking about taking him forward considering him as the face of the future. It is also discussed that if former JDU leader RCP Singh returns, then the political path may become easier for Nishant.
BJP’s ‘surprise card’ also possible-
Among all these names, BJP can also make any new face the Chief Minister. The party has already surprised everyone in many states by suddenly appointing new leaders as Chief Ministers.
Nitin Naveen was once being touted as the future Chief Minister, but later the discussion of sending him to Rajya Sabha put an end to that possibility.
Now discussion of new names like Sanjeev Chaurasia has also started in some political circles.
conclusion-
With Nitish Kumar going to Delhi, a major change of power in the politics of Bihar is considered certain. But there is still suspense as to who will sit on the Chief Minister’s chair.
Considering the political equations, caste balance and alliance constraints, only the final decision of the BJP will decide in whose hands the command of Bihar will go.
