CM Vijay on Delhi tour, may meet PM Modi-Sitharaman
Tezzbuzz Desk- Vijay, a fast-rising leader in Tamil Nadu politics and the new Chief Minister of the state, is leaving for his first official visit to Delhi today. This is his first visit to the capital Delhi after becoming the Chief Minister, which is considered very important from both political and administrative point of view.
According to sources, during his visit, Chief Minister Vijay may meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Financial assistance for Tamil Nadu, pending allocations and approval of several important development projects are likely to be discussed in these meetings.
It is being told that Chief Minister Vijay will place before the Central Government the demand for additional support for the state’s infrastructure projects, industrial development schemes, connectivity improvement and various welfare programs. The government believes that these projects are very important for the economic progress of Tamil Nadu.
This visit is also considered very important politically, because Vijay’s party TVK had made a big performance in the recently held assembly elections. The party surprised everyone by emerging as the largest party by winning 108 seats in the 234-member assembly, although it fell short of the majority figure.
After this, TVK formed a coalition government with the support of several parties like Congress, Left parties, IUML and VCK. In this way, after many years, a government with a new political equation has been formed in Tamil Nadu, which has brought a big change in the politics of the state.
This first visit of Vijay to Delhi is not only being considered important towards strengthening the relations between the Center and the state, but it is also being seen as the first big test of his political activism and leadership ability.
It is believed that Chief Minister Vijay will reach Delhi today itself and complete the meetings and can return to Chennai on the same day.
