Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Gorakhpur on Sunday on a two-day visit. At the awards ceremony of the sports competition on Monday, he also told about his plans to promote sports at the metropolitan level. The Chief Minister announced that he will soon hold a meeting with all the organizations of Gorakhpur Metropolitan Area. In this meeting, these organizations will be asked to adopt one sport each. They will provide some resources, and the government will provide the rest. Qualified coaches will be appointed, which will provide children a better platform for sports.

Earlier, the Chief Minister wholeheartedly praised the enthusiasm of the players despite the harsh cold. He said that 1,000 players participated directly and 10,000 players indirectly participated in the MLA sports competition. The 2025 MLA sports competitions included athletics, kabaddi, volleyball, judo and wrestling. He emphasized that sports not only provide entertainment in every situation, but also play an important role in keeping us physically, mentally and intellectually fit.
